Welcome to Realm of the White Wolf!!!!!

This poem was written for my Mom for Mother's Day back in 1994.

~Mother~

Cold, I am surrounded by her warmth
Afraid, I am comforted by her softness
Lost, she searches until she finds me
In danger, her courage will protect me
Watchful, she is Mother to her children
Her passion is never failing
Her voice is the gentle wind brushing across my face
Her spirit lives in the lives of those she touches
I open myself to hear her call
Inwardly strengthened by her presence
I know Peace
She is love, patient, strength and Mother
~I am Child~

On Jan.4,2014,My Mother who was 93 lost her battle that she had fought
for the last year with COPD and CHF
She had never been sick a day in her life until then,
she was strong, she was always there,
she was MY MOTHER and I will miss her terribly
This is the poem I wrote and read at her funeral

Reflections
(In Memory of my mother,Victoria E. Monroe)

Your passing caused me to pause
Remembering this past year
Has taken much out of me
And still lies heavy on my heart with your loss
Not only did Jim and I visit you many times
And get to enjoy your company
But I filled in several times with your care
So Birdy and Terry could take a break
You see, now it was our turn to take care of you
Just as you cared for us when we were young
As our Mother
Our protector
One who taught us so many things
Much of which has been woven into the fabric
Of our lives, our very being
You were always there for us
Now we were here for you
I grasped those moments and held them close
Back over time we traveled
To a time of adventure and childhood
Being able to laugh and talk of many things
And even saying, "I'm sorry"
For past mistakes on both sides
My curse from working so many years in the Medical field
In the field I did,was watching this unfold
And knowing there was not much time left
I knew I had hold you close
And attempt to gather all the memories I could
In so little time, Knowing it would never be enough
For there would never be another chance to do so
On your birthday, I knew God was calling you
He was calling you out of your pain
You had suffered enough
He was taking you HOME
To be with HIM
Where there was no more pain or suffering
You would always be with Him.
I know you are at Peace
You and Daddy are once agan walking beside us
You are walking hand in hand
No matter how far we are separated from each other
You are there, over my shoulder
Your hand outstretched holding mine
Forever into eternity
For you now Reside on the Wings of Angels

Mom, you were there just like Birdy still is,
you were there when I got sick with CKD
and had my transplant, I was blessed to be able
to when I was feeling down to be able pick up the phone and just call my Mother
I love you and will always miss you.

Please take the wolf and send her on her way around the world to continue her walk
in the name of the plight of the animals who cannot speak
for themselves yet continue to die at the hands of humans.

A Lakota Prayer

Great Spirit, you are everything
And yet above everything
You are first and always have been
Through you our children will have strong hearts
And they will walk the straight path in a sacred manner
Help me to walk the sacred path of life
Without difficulty
With my mind and heart continually fixed on you!
Amen
