These poems reflect the beliefs of the Native Americans in the animals that live
around them and that each was an embodiment of a certain power.
I walk in times long since past
Among legends and ancient ones
I see through their eyes
The slaughter of my people
I hear the chants of war and peace
Echoed by my warriors
The betrayal of my proud nation
I hear the pounding of hooves across the plains
As the past haunts the present demanding justice
~I am Spiritwalker~
He lives in thr rocks, trees, mountains and streams
The Mother Earth is his domain
His voice is the shrill, mournful cry
That splits the still of a cold, wintry night
He roams the snow covered earth on padded paws
Moving swiftly and quietly
He is spiritguide, teach, pathfinder and adventurer
~He is Legend~
His spirit lives in the earth, I feel his presence
I open myself to hear his call, for the Earth and I are One
In the chill of the night, in a clearing
The moon filters through the trees
With a haunting glow if illumines the night
In the mystery of ancient belief, Legend and I meet
I reach out and summon him
~We are One~
Wisdom of the ages, past and present
Seer of the future, guide to those who seek
Pathfinder to the lost
Adventurer to the bold
I am the Spiritwalker
He is the Stalking Wolf
~We are Legend~
He lives in the rocks, trees, mountains and streams
The Mother Earth is his domain
His voice is the shrill, mournful cry
That splits the still of the cold wintry night
He roams the snow covered earth on padded paws
running swiftly and quietly
He is spirit guide, teacher, pathfinder and adventurer
~He is Legend~
His spirit lives in the earth, I feel his presence
I open myself to his call, for the Earth and I are One
In the chill of the night, in a clearing the moon shines
With a haunting glow it illumines the night
In the mystery of ancient belief, Legend and I meet
I reach and summon him
I am the Spiritwalker
He is the Stalking Wolf
~We are Legend~
